The Word of God is a light to my path
Introducing my Scripture Hearts: combining God’s Word with His amazing gift of clay:

Each Heart is made from reclaimed* stoneware clay and fired in a Cone 10 gas-reduction kiln. A sturdy hanging wire is then affixed to the back. The high-fire process results in an extremely durable work of art, suitable to be hung indoors or out.

Meanwhile, I thought you might enjoy following the process from reclaimed clay to a finished Scripture Heart:
*Reclaimed Clay
To make an object from clay on a potter’s wheel, a potter takes a lump of clay and, adding water as they work, centers the clay on the wheel with their hands. Adding more water, they then shape the clay to the desired form. If the object becomes misshapen or collapses, this mass of clay is now too wet to handle and must be “reclaimed” before it can be re-worked.
In a community studio, most potters start over with a new block of clay and put the overly-wet clay from their failed projects into a reclaim barrel. This barrel, a lumpy gray mess of water and different types of clay, is where my projects begin. Scooping out a few pounds of the sloppy clay mixture, I extract the extra water then mash it together to make a new, unique mix of clay. This “reclaimed clay” is what I use to make all my Scripture Hearts and Venus Silvae sculpture works.
The Reclaimed Clay in the Potter’s House

“Then I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the vessel he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another vessel, shaping it as seemed best to him….’Can I not do with you as this potter does?’ declares the Lord. ‘Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand…’”
Jeremiah 18:3-6
