This is a detail from the end-papers spread for the back cover of my book, “I Wanted to Ask My Dad”. Yes, that means my illustrations are finished. Hooray! After nearly two years, it feels a little strange not to have an illustration board taped to my art table with the completed and preceding page-spread resting on my easel.
Although it sometimes felt like swimming upstream to journal, interview, write, re-write, read aloud, re-write again, and then to pray over, ponder and draw 54 illustrations, and then to re-write again, the stream’s current never felt insurmountable.
In the next few weeks, I will learn which direction the Lord would have this book to go.
I will keep you posted as this becomes clear to me, meanwhile, thank you for your enthusiasm and interest in this little book.
